Thank You Sabbath School Teachers!

There is a group of courageous, committed, and talented people in our church we don’t talk about too much – unless something has gone wrong. That is our Children’s and Youth Sabbath School Teachers!

Week after week they spend an hour with our children, loving them, teaching them, singing with them, making them feel like they belong here in our church!

While it doesn’t sound too hard, any of us who have been a Sabbath School Teacher knows how much time and energy goes into preparing for that hour. We are blessed to have such a great team of volunteers!

    • In our Cradleroll department we have Pat, Haley, and Coleen – along with Rita and Hannah who help occasionally when Pat is gone.
    • Our Primary division is headed up by Mary Jane, with regular help from Marina and Elma.
    • Our Juniors have Lori with some help from Andria.
    • And our Youth Department is headed up by Anita, along with Kimberly and John – and a number of youth who plan and lead out in their studies and discussions.

To each of you, on behalf of our church, I say thank you!

We have a couple of great Adult classes too! Our Sanctuary class is led by Steve and Kalvin, and our Hearth Room class is taught by David, John, and Danny. This also takes time to prepare, they don’t just walk into class and lead a discussion, they each spend significant time preparing.

To them also I say thank you!

When you run into any of these people, don’t hesitate to thank them yourself, especially if they are teaching you or your children.

How did God use this ordinary man with many imperfections to accomplish extraordinary feats in the time of Old Testament kings? Bible Gateway interviewed R. T. Kendall about his book, These Are the Days of Elijah: How God Uses Ordinary People to Do Extraordinary Things. (Click here to read more.)

Scripture Read At President George H. W. Bush’s Funeral: President George H. W. Bush, 94, died Nov. 30, 2018 in Houston, Texas after suffering with vascular Parkinsonism. Verified Volunteers – Child Protection Screening

In cooperation with the Kansas Nebraska Conference, we are working with Verified Volunteers to provide background checks and on-line education for our church officers and everyone who works with our children. This helps ensure that we have some training to help us recognize and avoid situations that would put our children at risk. In addition to our elected Church Officers, everyone who works with Pathfinders and Adventurers, Children’s or Youth Sabbath School Classes, Children’s Church, and VBS must go through this training and submit to a background check (there is no cost to you). It will take about an hour of your time.

To download a PDF page of instructions and links to help you through this process, click here. To go to the website where you begin this process, click here and then select First-Time Registrant and follow the instructions. For more information, contact Pastor T (e-mail or 402-517-5333).
